Once again, the Emmy nominations have been very good to Tracey and TTO. The series captured seven nominations this year. How many will they win? Find out on August 29 (the non-televised awards ceremony) and September 13 (prime-time telecast).
The winners are in bold.
Outstanding Art Direction - Variety or Music Program
Outstanding Costume Design - Variety or Music Program
Outstanding Directing - Variety or Music Program
Outstanding Hairstyling - Series
Outstanding Makeup - Series
Outstanding Performance - Variety or Music Program
Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series
Nominations: I was somewhat surprised to learn that Tracey did not receive a nomination for her guest appearance on Ally McBeal. I would have been shocked had she not received one for her TTO work. She's the only woman competing for the Outstanding Variety or Music Performance Emmy; will girl power triumph? Will she "beat the boys" again? We'll find out on September 13.
Congratulations to Tracey and the entire TTO staff.
Awards: I'm bummed. Two wins out of seven nominations. Congratulations to Jane Ruhm and Audree Futterman for their wins. Billy Crystal always does a good job hosting the Oscars, so I guess I can't complain too much about his win. But I don't agree with the "Late Show" win at all. If TTO wasn't going to win, I'd rather have seen "Dennis Miller Live" pick up the Emmy. Wait till next year....
