Dave introduces Tracey by mentioning that she'll be opening on Broadway next week in The Big Love. In character as Florence Aadland, she encourages everyone to forget the war (the Gulf War, still in progress) and come on out to the show. As herself, she compares the CNN logo used for their war coverage to something out of the Third Reich. The show ran for two months in Florida prior to coming to Broadway. The audiences were not the most attentive, she says -- the old people on respirators, who say 'at least it was time-consuming,' etc. She then summarizes the story, again in character. From a 1998 perspective, it is clear that the character of Florence is a first draft of Ruby Romaine, as the voices are nearly identical (and in one case, they are identical). Meanwhile, Dave is having some difficulty remembering the title of the play -- "Big Love, Big Butt, Big Breasts", whatever. After the break, Tracey relates a couple of stories about daughter Mabel on airplanes. One time, she complemented the flight attendant for giving a "marvelous" safety briefing. Another time, she called Jane Fonda "boring". Tracey misses her TV show; she says it's weird to be living in L.A. yet not working in TV. Will she do more TV someday? Sure -- maybe some Arsenio Hall-type thing. Then she mentions that she and Mabel are getting a big kick from watching the female body-building contests on ESPN. The commentary is so dumb, it's good!
